The Olde Forest Racquet Club staff is committed to ensuring that each member has the best possible experience at the club. All staff personnel are dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for all members. Additionally, OFRC staff are also charged with enforcing of all club rules, policies and guidelines as found in the membership handbook. Happy Kerns, Club Manager happy@oldeforest.com
Happy has been the Club Manager at OFRC since 2005. Born and raised in Burlington, Happy graduated from Peace College and UNCG with a degree in psychology. She loves planning and directing social events, and working with members all ages.
Jag Gowda, Tennis Director jag@oldeforest.com
Jag has been a certified USPTA Professional for over 20 years. Jag played collegiate tennis at Atlantic Christian College and was a member of the 1984 NAIA National Championship Team. Jag also was a member of the India National Junior Davis Cup Team and was invited to compete at the Junior French Open and Junior Wimbledon Championships in 1982. Coach Jag has trained many nationally ranked juniors that went on to have successful college careers.
Scott Schofer, Head Tennis Professional / Fitness Coordinator scott@oldeforest.com
Coach Scott is a Certified PTR Professional and played Division I college tennis at Western Illinois University. Scott has worked with tennis greats; Dennis Van der Meer, Cliff Drysdale, Bobby Riggs, Coach Jim Verdick and Dr. Jim Loher. In addition to Coach Scott’s tennis career, he is a certified Etcheberry Tennis Trainer/Coach with emphasis in fitness, conditioning and strength training. This Spring of 2010, Coach Scott directed The Elon School Boys Varsity Tennis team to their second consecutive NCISAA State 1A Championship.
