Weekly Update - Wednesday, July 20, 2010

Summer is here and that means HOT HOT HOT afternoon weather.  Please be sure to stay hydrated if you are on the courts or at the pool.  Also, please be aware that afternoon thunderstorms are possible.  The OFRC pool observes the 30/30 rule.  When lightening is heard or seen, the pool and areas near the water will be cleared.  30 minutes after the last observance of thunder or lightning MUST pass BEFORE any pool activities will resume.  Please be respectful of the Deck Leader and their decision making capabilities.

HISTORY

The Olde Forest Racquet Club was founded in 1973 by a group of avid tennis players from Alamance County.  OFRC takes pride in maintaining its member-owned, member-managed facility.  Members are regularly asked to serve on the Board of Directors, Committees and volunteer for special events.  Some of the original founding members are still very active in the club by assisting and coordinating activities.

As the club continues to grow and prosper, we are always looking for new ideas from our membership.  If you have suggestions or ideas, please call or email a staff member.  We look forward to serving you.
